For Sikhs, Diwali is particularly important because it celebrates the release from prison of the sixth guru, Guru Hargobind, and 52 other princes with him, in 1619. ... Sikhs celebrated the return of Guru Hargobind by lighting the Golden Temple and this tradition continues today.
They celebrate this day as Bandi Chhor Diwas.Meaning the day when prisoners released.

Here's my answer:
Patriotism - A concept which is so important that if it was not followed some decades ago, we will not get this freedom. Its so important that if ot was not followed, we will be exploited like that which was happening before independence.
Its the patriotism - the love for your country that gave the great freedom fighters the power to save from exploiting our country. The believe, the feeling of patriotism gave our freedom fighters to achieve this independence. Without this i.e. if they don't love their country, they will absolutely didn't fight for this freedom
Yet it is so important, in nowadays we are not giving it any importance. Take an example of those indian doctors who in the greed of money go to other countries. They don't care about the poor conditions of indian patients. The thing they care is only money. Not only doctors, but also other people of different profession like businessman, trader, etc go to different countries.
They have forgotten all those things that the country did for them.
Now lets take example of some other people, the ones who don't really care of the country because they think that there country nowadays has too much corruption, expensiveness, etc. So they really don't care about the country anymore. But they don't know that they borne in that country. The country gave them a home. and its their responsibility to improve it.
Of course, patriotism is not good when your country is not democratic republic, and is in bad hands. But still that's not the matter for us.
In conclusion, I want to say that we should always give our country importance because if there was not our country, we also was not here. We should try to improve our and should not complain about our country. Because we are the citizens of our country, and its our responsibility to improve it.
