Communication is so much more than words. Sometimes the most powerful thing a leader can say—is nothing. Silence has a habit of revealing meaning. ... A well-placed pause or an extended silence, especially after a powerful question, can communicate deeply.

Answer:

yes dear, I agree..........

Explanation:

It definitely is better to stay silent on a topic which you have no idea about.

It is also better to stay silent sometimes, when you're in the middle of a squabble. Believe me, things you will say now (in the middle of a fight), you'd most probably regret them later.

Stay silent, when you're angry, you don't want to utter something out which you might end up regretting later. You don't want to hurt the other person, stay silent. You're just angry, take deep breaths, take a walk, don't engage in conversation with anyone for sometime, tell them that you're not feeling well, you'll talk later. Don't take out your wrath on someone. Just stay silent for the time.

Silence is necessary when you are initiating a conversation with someone, it is a give and take of words at the right time. Do not interrupt while the other person is speaking.

Silence is key while watching a movie, nobody wants your words of wisdom in the middle of a movie.

And the most important, sometime the grace lies in being silent, don't say something just because the other person is asking for it, or you want to say it and it is on the roll of your tongue, say something, only if you mean it.

And, on an ending note, silence is to be used very carefully, in different circumstances, it may apply differently. Think hard before using it. You don't wanna mess up things just because of silence. If there is something that is bothering you, say it. Don't remain silent in such a situation.
