The Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980 an Act of the Parliament of India to provide for the conservation of forests and for matters connected therewith or ancillary or incidental thereto. It was further amended in 1988.[1] This law extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. It was enacted by Parliament of India to control further deforestation of Forest Areas in India. The act came into force on 25 October 1980. It has five section.

The Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980:

Measures of the act:-

➡️In this, conservation organisation buy debt obligation at a discount on the secondary market and than offer to cancel a debt if the debtor country promises to protect or restore an area of biological importance.✔️


➡️It should be taken care that while continuos logging, protection of most valuable forests including stream side buffer strip and prime wildlife habitat should also be done.✔️


➡️There are some alternative for clear cutting of forest for timer, log etc. like shelter wood harvesting, in which mature trees are remove in a series of two or more cut, strip cutting, in which all trees in a narrow corridor are harvested and selective cutting.✔️
