Hi;.

Of the many silica-based glasses that exist, ordinary glazing and container glass is formed from a specific type called soda-lime glass, composed of approximately 75% silicon dioxide (SiO2), sodium oxide (Na2O) from sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), calcium oxide (CaO), also called lime, and several minor additives.

Silica glass is used where high service temperature, very high thermal shock resistance, high chemical durability, very low electrical conductivity, and good ultraviolet transparency are desired.…

Silica glass is composed of SiO2 only, and contains very little amounts of metallic impurity. Deformation temperature of silica glass is as high as 1,700ºC and therefore it can be well used at such high temperatures around 1,000ºC.

Silica is a glass consisting silica in amorphous form.It differs from traditional glasses in containing no other ingredients which are typically added to glass to lower the melt temperature.Fused silica therefore, has high working and melting temperatures.
