As We know that phosphorus is a pentavalent Element. i.e ; phosphorus have 5 valence electrons in their outermost shell.

Out of 5 Electrons 4 electron will form covalent bond with silicon and one electron will remain in the shell which is responsible for conducting electricity.

And due to Excess of an electron it is know as N-type Semiconductor. because the electron has negative character. Free electrons out number holes in an n-type material, so the electrons are the majority carriers and holes are the minority carriers.
