But, silver and gold turn to some other colour after a few months because these two metals start tarnishing their colours on exposure to hydrogen sulphide in the atmosphere. Due to the pollution caused by factories, vehicles, etc the hydrogen sulphide in air is increasing. So, gradually the two metals start tarnishing.
