the reaction will not take place because silver cannot displace hydrogen from hydrochloric acid.

silver is less reactive than hydrogen

silver does not react with HCL. This is bcz , like other reactive metals, silver cannot displace hydrogen from HCL.

silver is below hydrogen in the reactivity and thus cannot displace
