Silver iodine, AgI is a yellow crystalline solid. But when it is exposed to sunlight , it forms solid grey silver and iodine. Why? Give one practcal application of this reaction and write the equation also.

because it does decomposition reaction in sunlight.
it is used in black and white photography..
