Yes. Silver nitrate can be used to distinguish HCl and HNO3
This is because when silver nitrate solution is added to HCl a white precipitate will form. Silver ions react with chloride ions to form an insoluble salt.
AgNO3 (a) + HCl (aq) → AgCl (s) + HNO3 (aq)

On the other hand, when silver nitrate is added to nitric acid, no precipitate will form.
