Similarities:

Trinidad Pardo de Tavera and Jose Montero Vidal were two sides of the Cavite Mutiny. Both of them had versions of the factors that caused Cavite Mutiny and how was it caused.

Differences:

Jose Montero Vidal was a Spanish writer and documentarist whereas Trinidad Pardo de Tavera was a scholar and researcher from Philipines. So it can be clearly seen that Vidal mentioned the incident with support to Spanish whereas Tavera mentioned in support of Philipines.

Vidal believes that this mutiny is to dethrone Spanish Government rule in Philipines whereas Tavera believes that this mutiny was due to the scrapping of privileges of workers and other members who were Filipino.

Vidal’s view was in support of Governor Gen. Rafael Izquierdo’s vision while Tavera blamed him for the "abolition of privileges".
