What is a polygon ??

A polygon is a closed figure made up of at least  three line segments.

Types of Quadrilaterals.

There are many types of quadrilaterals such as:

  • Parallelogram
  • Rhombus
  • Square
  • Rectangle
  • Kite
  • Trapezium

Here, we will discuss only Square and Rhombus.

Properties of a Square.

  • All sides equal.
  • All angles equal.
  • Diagonals are equal.
  • Diagonals bisect each other at right angles.

Properties of a Rhombus.

  • All sides are equal.
  • Opposite angles are equal.
  • Diagonals are not equal.
  • Diagonals bisect each other at right angles.

Differences and similarities between Square and Rhombus.

Clearly, there are two differences and two similarities between a square and a rhombus.

Similarities:

  • All sides are equal.
  • Diagonals bisect each other at right angles.

Differences:

  • In a square, all angles are of 90°. In rhombus, opposite angles are equal.
  • In a square, diagonals are equal. In a rhombus, diagonals are not equal.
