The poet compares the poem and the lily. Much like a flower, the beauty of a poem grows gradually. Through the comparison the poet shows how the poem starts with a hidden message in it waiting to blossom and reveal itself. And once it blossom everybody admires the true beauty of it that was hidden inside.
