The word mother, in essence, means the female parent of a child. The female parents of the entire human population. The phrase mother earth, on the other hand, is the personification of our planet. This is especially due to the similarities that the planet earth has in regards to our mothers. The similarities can be listed as follows:

1) Both the mother earth and our mothers are the source of all life on the entire planet. People come into being when given birth to by their mothers after conception. The same can be said of the planet earth, every living creature was brought forth into being thanks to the existence of this life giving planet.

2)Both our mothers and the mother earth are providers. Our mothers provide for us when we are still dependent on them and just like our mothers, the mother earth provides sustenance to all living creatures that depend on her.

3) Both our mothers and mother earth provide comfort to us.

4) Both mother earth and our mothers are very tolerable of us. We at many times hurt our mothers and mother earth yet they still go on providing and caring for us as their children. Human being subject nature to a lot of pollution, yet  mother nature still gives provision when we till the land. 

5) Both our mothers and mother earth are very hardworking. Our mothers usually wake up early, till the land, go to the market, do house chores, prepare us for school and so on. The same is with mother nature, she works tirelessly to ensure their is rain, rivers are flowing, crops are growing and so on.

माँ शब्द, संक्षेप में, एक बच्चे की महिला माता-पिता का मतलब है। संपूर्ण मानव आबादी की महिला माता-पिता। दूसरी ओर, वाक्यांश धरती मां, हमारे ग्रह की पहचान है। यह विशेष रूप से उन समानताओं के कारण है जो ग्रह पृथ्वी हमारी माताओं के संबंध में हैं। समानता इस प्रकार सूचीबद्ध की जा सकती है -:

१) धरती माता और हमारी माताएँ दोनों ही संपूर्ण ग्रह पर जीवन का स्रोत हैं। गर्भाधान के बाद अपनी माताओं द्वारा जन्म दिए जाने पर लोग अस्तित्व में आते हैं। ग्रह पृथ्वी के बारे में भी यही कहा जा सकता है, प्रत्येक जीवित प्राणी को इस जीवन देने वाले ग्रह के अस्तित्व के लिए धन्यवाद दिया गया था।

२) हमारी माँ और धरती माँ दोनों प्रदाता हैं। हमारी माताएँ हमें तब प्रदान करती हैं जब हम अभी भी उन पर निर्भर होते हैं और हमारी माताओं की तरह, माँ पृथ्वी सभी जीवित प्राणियों को जीविका प्रदान करती है जो उस पर निर्भर हैं।

३) हमारी माँ और धरती माँ दोनों ही हमें सुकून देती हैं।

४) धरती माता और हमारी माताएं दोनों ही हमारे लिए बहुत सहनीय हैं। हम कई बार अपनी माताओं और धरती माँ को चोट पहुँचाते हैं, फिर भी वे अपने बच्चों के रूप में हमारी देखभाल और चिंता करते हैं। मानव बहुत अधिक प्रदूषण के अधीन प्रकृति है, फिर भी माँ प्रकृति तब भी प्रावधान देती है जब हम भूमि पर रहते हैं।

५) हमारी मां और धरती मां दोनों ही बहुत मेहनती हैं। हमारी माताएं आमतौर पर जल्दी उठती हैं, जमीन तक, बाजार जाती हैं, घर का काम करती हैं, हमें स्कूल आदि के लिए तैयार करती हैं। वही माँ प्रकृति के साथ है, वह यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अथक प्रयास करती है कि उनकी बारिश हो, नदियाँ बह रही हों, फसलें बढ़ रही हों और इसी तरह से।
