Similarities between the spermatophytes and pteridophytes:

  • The spermatophytes are the plants bearing the seeds.
  • The Pteridophytes are the plants which don’t bear seeds, but spores. But, there are similarities between them too.
  • Both of them are free-living, the sporophytic generation being the maximum of their life cycle.
  • Both of them have xylem and phloem tissues as their conducting tissues.
  • Both of their bodies are differentiated into stem leaves and roots.
  • But, the processes of reproduction are different. The need for water is also different in these plants.
