The major similarity between a physical and the chemical change is that the state of the reactants is changed. Secondly, chemical and physical change is always accompanied with the changes in the energy. For example, heat can be released or consumed during both of the reactions. Thirdly, new products are formed as a result of both of the reactions. I think these are the three similarities between the two reactions, otherwise they are very dissimilar to each other.
