Aquatic was evolved from a word aqua which means water thus, aquatic animal means those animal live in water like fish, sea snake, octopus etc.

While desert animal are those live on desert includes snakes,other reptiles etc.

*note : In some cases aquatic animal can live on desert but they feel less efficient beithan water and vice versa.
