Adrenaline (produced by the Adrenal medulla)
This is produced as a fight or flight response.

All Myocytes (Muscle cells) have epinephrine receptors which on binding to its substrate (epinephrine, also called adrenaline) activates Adenylyl cyclase. which converts ATP-->cAMP.

cAMP, a very famous secondary messenger activates a phosphorylation cascade that ends up activating glycogenolysis and inhibits glycogenesis.

Adrenaline has a faster response as covalent modifications(eg phosphorylation) to a protein takes place at faster time scales.
