If vocational training is done then that gives a trained person a high skill level but on the condition of narrow specialization. Furthermore, in the case somebody decides to switch from the field people would end up beginning from the very scratch.
A lot of physical injuries occur in vocational jobs which end up a person being dependent on others for a a lifetime at times. Also these jobs lack some respect factors as well. So in fact being old school and using traditional ways of learning is something which benefits better for the long run.
