heterogeneous is a mixture not a solution because it donot have uniform composition throughout the mixture in simple language the particles of one element  do not get mixed with particles of other element.
homogeneous is a solution it has uniform composition throughout the solution .Elements of this mixture do not get separated by any physical process.
