Take two paper glasses and make a pin-hole in each of its base.
Now, take a long thread and insert each of its end in the hole of each glass and tie few knots to from inside to fix it so that it doesn't comes out on stretching gently.
- Now ask a person to take one of the glass and stand at sufficient distance so that the thread is gently stretched. Now if one of the person speaks into the glass and the other listens it by covering an ear with the other glass connected via string they can actually listen each other in a one-by-one process.
This is because the sound is a material wave requiring a medium to travel which here is provided by the stretched spring.
