In this poem the author was in the sad mood and was standing under a hemlock tree . At this time a crow sits on the tree and accidentally a dust of snow fell into his body . The author says that this had changed his mood.

He says that if he had been sad then he could do anything properly.That is why he is saying that the falling of the dust of snow had changed his mood thus saved the day.
