Properties of simple squamous epithelium are:-
(1) These tissue is made up of single layer of flattened cells on irregular boundaries.
(2)They are found in the walls of blood vessels and air sacs of lungs.
(3) The main function of these tissues are diffusion.
(4) It is also known as pavement epithelium.
(5) And also known to be tessellated epithelium due to its wavy appearance.
(6) Examples:-
- Bowman's capsule (podocytes)
- Thin part of loop of henle
- Alveoli of lungs
- Mesothelium
- Endothelium
- Endocardium(innermost lining of heart)
