 \frac{1}{2}  -  \frac{2}{3}  +  \frac{2}{4}  \\ lcm \: of \: denominators = 12 \\  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{6}{6}  =  \frac{6}{12}  \\  \frac{2}{3}  \times  \frac{4}{4}  =  \frac{8}{12}  \\  \frac{2}{4}  \times  \frac{3}{3}  =  \frac{6}{12}  \\  \frac{6}{12}  -  \frac{8}{12}  +  \frac{6}{12 }  \\  \frac{12}{12}  -  \frac{8}{12}  \\  =  \frac{4}{12}  =  \frac{1}{3}
