Answer:

Given : 2(p+1) + 8(p-1) = 5p

To find : the value of p

From given : 2(p+1)+8(p-1)= 5p

2p+2 + 8p-8 = 5p

10p - 6 =5p

10p-5p=6

5p=6

P=6/5

CHECKING THE SOLUTION

on putting the the value of p in given equation

2(p+1)+8(p-1)=5p

2(6/5+1) + 8(6/5–1) = 5x6/5

2(6+5/5) + 8(6–5/5) = 6

2(11/5)+8(1/5)=6

22/5+8/5=6

22+8/5=6

30/5=6

6=6
