(2 + \sqrt{3} )(2 - \sqrt{3} ) \\ = (2) {}^{2} - ( \sqrt{3} ) {}^{2} = 4 - 3 = 1

Using the identity a²-b² = (a+b)(a-b)

Hope it helps.......

Step-by-step explanation:

(2 + root 3) (2 - root 3)

Identity : (a+b) (a-b) = a²-b²

= (2)²- (root 3)²

= 4 - (root 9)

= 4 - 3

= 1
