To simplify : (2)^{-3} \times(2)^{-4}

Solution:

  • law of exponent :
  1. Product law: According to this law if bases of two terms are same then their powers are added keeping the base same. i.e. a^{m}+a^{n}=a^{m+n}
  • Therefore , on solving according to above rule we get ,

     (2)^{-3} \times(2)^{-4}

     = 2^{-3-4} \\=2^{-7}  \\= -128

Hence value will be -128 .
