To solve the above question we should use BODMAS.

What is BODMAS?

  • Brackets
  • Of
  • Division
  • Multiplication
  • Addition
  • Subtraction

So whenever we are solving a question we should make sure to go in order of BODMAS.

For the following question, we solve it like this  -

21 + 36 ÷ (2 + 7) + 7 × (-5)

First, we solve the brackets.

In the brackets, we have only one operation that is addition so we directly solve the brackets.

⇒ 21 + 36 ÷ (2 + 7) + 7 × (-5)

⇒ 21 + 36 ÷ 9 + 7 × (-5)

Now we will solve division.

⇒ 21 + 36 ÷ 9 + 7 × (-5)

⇒ 21 + 4 + 7 × (-5)

Now we solve multiplication.

⇒ 21 + 4 + 7 × (-5)

⇒ 21 + 4 + (-35)

Now we will use the integer law which is ⇒ (+) (-) = (-)

⇒ 21 + 4 - 35

Now we will solve addition.

⇒ 21 + 4 - 35

⇒ 25 - 35

Now we will solve subtraction.

⇒ 25 - 35

⇒ (-10)

∴ 21 + 36 ÷ (2 + 7) + 7 × (-5) = (-10)
