Given:

- 2x - 2( - 7x - 16)

We have to simply the given expression.

Solution:

- 2x - 2( - 7x - 16)

=  - 2x - 2( - 7x) - 2 (- 16)

= - 2x + 14x + 32

= 12x + 32

Taking 4 as common, we get

= 4(3x + 8)

∴  - 2x - 2( - 7x - 16) = 4(3x + 8)

Thus, the simplification of  - 2x - 2( - 7x - 16) is "4(3x + 8)".
