Concept

Simplifying formulas is  another way of showing how to solve math problems. Basically, when simplifying an expression, try to write it as simply as possible. After all, do not add, subtract, multiply, or divide.

Simplifying an expression means rewriting the same algebraic expression  in a compact way without using similar terms.

Given

We have been given an expression  2x + x + x + 2y\times 3y\times y .

Find

We are asked to determine the simplification of the given expression

Solution

First we will add the like term in the given expression, then the expression becomes 4x+2y\times 3y\times y .

We can see that 2 y, 3 y, y are like terms, and they are in the multiplication , so on simplification, the expression becomes

4x+6y^3

Therefore, the simplification of given expression 4x+2y\times 3y\times y is 4x+6y^3
