$3(3) [4(3) - 5] \\ \\ 9(12 - 5) \\ \\ 9(7) \\ \\ 63$

(ii) x=$\frac{1}{2}$

$3( \frac{1}{2} )[4( \frac{1}{2} ) - 5]\\ \\ \frac{3}{2} (2 - 5) \\ \\ \frac{3}{2} ( - 3) \\ \\ \frac{ - 9}{2}$

x=3 gives the value 12(9)−15×3+3

                             =108−45+3

                              =66

x=1/2 gives the value 12(1/4)−15×(1/2)+3
