Question :

◕ simplify :-

5( x - 2 ) - 2( x + 8 ) = x

How to do ?

First multiple the outside numbers with inside expression then whatever the sign is present between them do that operation if they have same variable then only we will perform this operation otherwise we will not do... then after we will change the sign of that oparated *variable number* by sending to other side (I am not taking about constant number one ) then again we will apply systematic method of algebra till I get one number and after getting one number we will cancel and will get the answer !! (•‿•)

Answer :

Step 1 :

Let's arrange those them first !

  \blue{\pmb{5(x \:  - 2) - 2(x \:   +  8) = x}}

Step 2 :

Let's multiply the outside constant numbers with inside number .

 \green{\bf{5x - 10 - 2x - 16 = x}}

[attention ! ]

In this step here you may face sign problem so in this you need to remember that if there is negative sign before bracket open then it changes the all the sign present inside the bracket .

 \orange{\pmb{5(x \:  - 2) \: {\pink{\boxed{ -}}} \: \:  2(x \:   + 8) = x}}

Some more rules :

 \tt{ (- ) ( - ) = ( + )}

( - )( + ) = ( - )

( + )( - ) = ( - )

( + )( + ) = ( + )

Step 3 :

Now let's change the place of variable number to other side means change in side of left to right (systematic method) and sign changes .

 \purple{\tt{ 3x - 26= x}}

\purple{\tt{ - 26= x - 3x}}

\purple{\tt{ - 26=  - 2x}}

Step 4 :

Let's cancel now the numbers !

\purple{\tt{\frac {\cancel{{  - 26 }} \:  \:  \green{13}}{\cancel{{ - 2}} \:  \:  \green{1}} = x }}

Step 5 :

Now write the answer !!

 \boxed {\tt{\color{aqua}x = 13}}
