A composite number is a number which has factors other than unity and the number itself. Examples: 4, 6, 15, 100 and so on. It follows from this definition that the smallest composite number is 4 since the factors of 4 are: 1,2 and 4.

A prime number is a number whose sole divisors (factors) are unity (1) and the number itself. Examples of prime numbers: 2, 3, 5, 19, 71, etc. Therefore the smallest prime number = 2 since its divisors are only 1 and 2.

To find HCF between 2 and 4, we write

2 = 2¹

4 = 2²

It is evident from above that the Highest Common Factor or HCF between 4 and 2 is 2.

Hence, the HCF of the smallest composite number and the smallest prime number is 2

1) (x+2)³

using,
(a+b)³=a³+3a²b+3ab²+b³
(x+2)³=x³+3(x)²(2)+3(x)(2)²+(2)³
=x³+6x²+12x+8

2) (x-2)³

using,
(a-b)³=a³-3a²b+3ab²-b³
(x-2)³=x³-3(x)²(2)+3(x)(2)²-(2)³
=x³-6x²+12x-8

3) x³-(2)³

using,
a³-b³=(a-b)³+3a²b-3ab²
x³-2³=(x-2)³+3(x)²(2)-3(x)(2)²
=(x-2)³+6x²-12x

4) x³+2³

using,
a³+b³=(a+b)³-3a²b-3ab²
x³+2³=(x+2)³-3(x)²(2)-3(x)(2)²
=(x+2)³-6x²-12x

hope it helps you....
