 =  \frac{ \frac{1}{a}  +  \frac{1}{b} }{ \frac{1}{ab} }

 =  \frac{b + a}{ab}  \div  \frac{1}{ab}

 =  \frac{b + a}{ab} {\times ab}

ab gets cancelled
