 = (5 +  \frac{1}{5} )(5 -  \frac{1}{5} )

 =  \frac{26}{5}  \times  \frac{24}{5}

 =  \frac{624}{25}

 = 24 \frac{24}{25}

or,

 = 24.96

3) {( {5}^{ - 1}  -  {7}^{ - 1} )}^{ - 1}

we know,  {x}^{-n} = \frac{1}{x}

therefore,

 ={ ( \frac{1}{5}  -  \frac{1}{7} )}^{ - 1}

 =  ( \frac{7 - 5}{35} )^{ - 1}

 = ( \frac{2}{35} )^{ - 1}

we know, any expression raised to the power -1 is equal to it's reciprocal.

 = ( \frac{35}{2} )

 = 17 \frac{1}{2}

or,

 = 17.5

4) {(( \frac{2}{3} )^{ - 1}  -  ({ \frac{1}{2} )}^{ - 1} )}^{ - 1}

we know,  {x}^{-n} = \frac{1}{x}

also, any expression raised to the power -1 is equal to it's reciprocal.

therefore,

 = (( \frac{2}{3}) - 2)

 =  \frac{2 - 4}{2}

 =  - 2
