(a+b+c)(3a-b+c) - (b^2 - c^2)

= a (3a-b+c) + b (3a-b+c) +c (3a-b+c) - b^2 +c^2

= 3a^2 -ab + ac + 3ab -b^2 + bc + 3ac -bc +c^2 - b^2 +c^2

= 3a^2 -ab + 3ab + bc -bc + ac + 3ac  - b^2 -b^2 + c^2 +c^2

= 3a^2 -2ab +4ac - 2 b^2 +2 c^2

This is the answer.
