Answer to Q.No. 1

6x + ( - 7x - 2y)

Now, we shall remove the brackets.

6x - 7x - 2y

Here, the sign of 7x changes into minus because we know that plus and minus together becomes minus.

 - x - 2y

This is the answer.

Answer to Q. No. 2

[3c - (2c + 5d) - d]

While removing the brackets, the sign changes as plus minus together becomes minus.

[3c - 2c - 5d - d]

c - 6d

This is the answer.

Answer to Q.No. 3

5a - (3b - 2a + 4c)

Here also while removing the brackets, the sign convention changes.

5a - 3b + 2a - 4c

7a - 3b - 4c

This is the answer.

Answer to Q. No. 4

a - [b - {a -(b -1) + 3a}]

Here also as we go on removing the brackets, the sign also changes.

a - [b - {a - b + 1 + 3a}]

a - [b - a + b - 1 - 3a}]

a - [2b - 4a -1]

a - 2b + 4a + 1

5a - 2b + 1

This is the answer.

Answer to Q.No. 5

2x - 3y - [3x – 2y - {x - 2 - (x - 2y)}]

The sign changes as we remove the brackets.

2x - 3y - [3x – 2y - {x - 2 - x + 2y}]

2x - 3y - [3x – 2y - x + 2 + x - 2y]

2x - 3y - 3x + 2y + x - 2 - x + 2y

2x - 3x + x - x - 3y + 2y + 2y - 2

-x + y - 2

x - y + 2

Hence, this is the answer.
