We know,

sin²Θ + cos²Θ = 1

or, 1 - cos²Θ = sin²Θ

or, (1 - cos²Θ) / cos²Θ = sin²Θ / cos²Θ [dividing both side with cos²Θ]

or, (1 - cos²Θ) / cos²Θ = tan²Θ (answer)
