simplify a square root, you factor what's inside the root into perfect squares and everything else. In this case, you can factor 44

into a product of 4 and 11:

√44=√4*11

4 is a perfect square, so you can take it out its root giving you the answer:

2√11

11 is a prime number meaning you cannot factor it any further.
