simplify tan^2 theta +1/ 1 + cot^2 theta

 \tan^{2} (a)  + 1 \div 1 +  \cot ^{2} (a)
 =  \sec^{2} (a)  \div  \cosec {}^{2} (a)
 = 1 \div  \cos {}^{2} (a)  \times  \sin ^{2} (a)
 =  \sin {}^{2} (a)  \div  \cos {}^{2} (a)
 =  \tan {}^{2} (a)
