Add

 \frac{ - 3}{5}  \times  \frac{40}{12}

cut 12 by-3 and 40 by 5.

 -  \frac{8}{4}

 =  - 2 \:  \:  \: ans

B)

 \frac{2}{7}  \times (  \frac{7}{9}  +  \frac{35}{16} )

Add

 \frac{2}{7}  \times  \frac{427}{144}

Cut 427 by 7 and 144 by 2.

 =  \frac{61}{72}
