( \sqrt{2}  -  \sqrt{5} )^{2}  \\  = ( \sqrt{2} )^{2}  +  (\sqrt{5} ) ^{2}  - 2( \sqrt{2})( \sqrt{5} ) \\  = 2 + 5 - 2 \sqrt{10}  \\  = 7 - 2 \sqrt{10}

Remember:

(a-b)²=a²+b²-2ab
