( \frac{1}{2} )^{ - 2}+( \frac{2}{3})^{ - 2} + ( \frac{3}{4})^{ - 2}  \\  =  (2)^{2}  +  ({ \frac{3}{2} })^{2}  +  ({ \frac{4}{3} })^{2}  \\  = 4 +  \frac{9}{4}  +  \frac{16}{9}  \\  =  \frac{144 + 81 + 64}{36}  \\  =  \frac{289}{36}  \\  = ( { \frac{17}{6} })^{2}
