Answer :-
i] 6x - 3y + 9x + 2y - (-x + y)
= 6x - 3y + 9x + 2y + x - y
= 16x - 3y + 2y - y
= 16x - 4y + 2y
= 16x - 2y
= 2(8x - y) Answer.
ii] (4x + 5y ) - (-3y + y)
= 4x + 5y + 3y - y
= 4x + 8y - y
= 4x + 7y Answer.
Additional information :-
- To simplify a equation, we've to plus/minus the terms that include the same variable. Like we can't add 4x & 2y. We can add 4x with 2x (4x + 2x = 6x) or, 3y with 6y (3y + 6y = 9y)
- Minus into minus becomes a plus. (- × - = +)
- Plus into plus remains a plus. (+ × + = +)
- Plus into minus becomes a minus. (+ × - = -)
- For eg., 5x × (-7) = -35x [Since, 5x has a plus sign and 7 has a minus sign.]

1) + × + = +
★ Example :-
- 5x × 2x = 10x²
2) + × - = -
★ Example :-
- 5x × ( - 2x) = - 10x²
3) - × - = +
★ Example :-
- ( - 5x) × ( - 2x) = 10x²
