1) The question can be written as --- (a^2-b^2) - 2(a^2-b^2)
i.e. -(a^2-b^2) = b^2- a^2 = (b+a)*(b-a)
2) The question can be written as --- 2(a^2-b^2) - (a^2-b^2)
i.e. (a^2-b2) = (a+b)*(a-b)
3) (x+y)-(1+X/2-y)
= x+y-1-(x/2)+y
= (X/2)+2y-1
