Solution:

( \sqrt{5}  +  \sqrt{2} )( \sqrt{5}  -  \sqrt{2)}  \\  =  \sqrt{5} ( \sqrt{5}  -  \sqrt{2} ) +  \sqrt{2} ( \sqrt{5}  -  \sqrt{2} ) \\  = 5 -  \sqrt{10}  +  \sqrt{10}  - 2 \\  = 5 - 2 \\  = 3

Another method :

We can the expression in the form of (a+b)(a-b)

As we know the formula of

(x + y)( x - y) \\  =  {x}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}

Solution:

 { (\sqrt{5}) }^{2}  -   {( \sqrt{2)} }^{2}  \\  = 5 - 2 \\ 3
