so

[ Multiplying equation no. (2) by 2]

10x - 4y = 0...................(3)

[Subtracting equation no. (3) from (1)]

3x - 4y = - 7
10x - 4y = 0

 - 7x = - 7
7x = 7
x = \frac{7}{7}
x = 1

[Substitute x = 1 in equation no. (2)]

5x - 2y = 0

5(1) - 2y = 0

5 - 2y = 0

5 = 2y

y = 5 / 2

y = 2.5
