x - y = 5 ... equation 1

x + y = 7 ... equation 2

addition of eqñ 1 and eqñ 2

x - y = 5

+

x + y = 7

__________

2 x = 12

2x = 12

X = 12 ÷ 2

so,

X = 6 ..

now ,

put this value of X in any equation..

The 2 nd equation is easy so we put this value of X in 2 nd equation...

so,

x + y = 7 ... 2nd eqñ...

6 + y = 7 ... ( X = 6 )

y = 7 - 6

y = 1

so ,

X = 6 &. y = 1
