we have x = 1 - 4y ______(1)

substitute it in another equation

y - 2[ 1 -4y] =7

y - 2 + 8y = 7

9y =9

y= 1

substitute the value if y in equation (1)

x= 1- 4(1)

x = -3

 \huge \mathscr{\orange {\underline{\pink{\underline {Answer:-}}}}}

y-2x = 7............(1)

4y+x = 1............(2)

Now replacing y by its value in (2)

4( 7 + 2x ) + x = 1

28 + 8x + x = 1

28 + 9x = 1

9x = 1 - 28

9x = - 27

x = 9 − 27

x = −3

Now y will be ;

4y + (-3) = 1

4y-3=1

4y=4

y = 1
