-2x + 2y = -2

x - y = 1 --–---–-----(2) ( whole equation dividing by -2)

from eq (1) & eq (2) we get....

x + y + x - y = 5 + 1

2x = 6 ( removing y)

x = 6/2 ( dividing by 2)

x = 3

now put the value of x in equation 1 we get...

3 + y = 5

y = 5 - 3

y = 2
