sin²Q = 1/2

sin²Q +cos²Q = 1

put value

1/2+cos²Q = 1

cos²Q = 1-1/2 = (2-1)/2 = 1/2

sin {}^{2}  \alpha  + cos { \alpha }^{2}  = 1
1 \div 2 + cos { \alpha }^{2}  = 1 \\ cos {}^{2}  \alpha  = 1 - 1 \div 2 \\ cos {   }^{2} \alpha  = 2 - 1 \div 2 \\ cos {}^{2}\alpha  = 1 \div 2
